JOY

Ok, I was at lunch with a great friend reflecting on our discipleship class this past weekend. The topic of the class was on James 1:1-5.  The question that I have held onto from this is ... What does the word JOY really mean?  Some say Joy is being happy. Others believe it is extreme happiness or ellation.... so that you have it in context we were looking at verse 2 James that says we should "count it all joy when we go through trials and tribulations" (paraphase mine). So how do we do that? So does that mean countt it as a joyful occasion? count it as happiness? be internally satisfied when...?

What is it? JOY that is?????

Just thinking.... Any insight would be great!

  1. Personally, I think it means being content and fully present (participating) in the moment, whatever that moment is. Savoring the moment because you can.
